Pros and cons of chain-link fence.
As for the pros: the cost is the lowest among all types of fences. There's nothing cheaper, except a hedge, but even that is debatable - it will need care. Installation is simple and quick. Durability, but only if the chain-link has a protective coating, as we wrote above. The fence doesn't provide shade, it lets air in. It can be used as the basis for a hedge. It does not require maintenance. It can withstands heavy loads, it is much more difficult to break such a fence than a wooden one. If you pull the barbed wire on top, it will be quite a serious obstacle. Although not insurmountable. As for the cons: lack of shade, air pass is good, but the downside is the transparency of this fence. If you want to hide from the eyes of other people, then the chain-link is definitely not your choice. To the previous point can be added the lack of soundproofing, dust penetration into the site. This is not always relevant, but nevertheless it is important. The aesthetic is not the highest, and even one of the lowest. Only a fence made of old and rotten boards or corrugated board (cheap with an unfortunate color) will look worse. However, this is solved by the issue of creating a hedge, which takes time. Of course, the most important factor why people choose chain-link is its cost. The cost of not only buying the material, but also the installation. To the pluses can be attributed the speed of construction of such a fence. Especially when you need to make a temporary fence.
What are the types of mesh fences ?
•The first type is a tension fence without guides. The easiest and fastest way is for workers to simply dig in the poles and fix the mesh.
•Stretch fence with guides.
Workers additionally install crossbars, e.g. made of wood. This design is slightly more expensive than the previous one, but it is more durable.
•Sectional fence.
Metal frames are attached to the pillars, on which the mesh is already stretched. The design is very durable and the strongest, but the cost is the highest.
Chain link fence posts.
•Wooden poles. A cheap option, it is very convenient to attach a chain-link to them. You can take both poles and timber.
•Profile pipes. The middle option for all parameters, the mesh is fixed with special clamps or wire. A plug is placed on top of the pipe to prevent water from getting in.
•Metal poles. Not the cheapest option, but very durable.
